speaking of Lost (which i don't really know anything about), I totally saw the bald dude from the show while i was in Hawaii a few weeks ago at the North Shore. we ran into him at Foodland while we were buying chips, my mom freaked.
leave it to Lost to have a 2 hour premiere that answers no questions. whatever it was still AWESOME. especially having the comfort to know there is more next week.
Oh but there was answers! Mr. Black (the dood from the beach with Jacob) is (not) Locke, the black smoke, he was also (not) christian.
The real thing here is on the plane with no crash.... do you guys think that is a "flash sideways?" or what?
I'm not convinced of this flash sideways.... I think it's another flash forward but it's after they try something else on the island to stop the crash... crazy I know.
The temple crew.. I think those are all Richards peeps... like none of them age. Speaking of temple Sayid..... I think he is dead.... I'm thinking it's might be Jacobs "loop hole" in the same way Mr. Black used Locke.... Although the note inside the cross said do not let Sayid die... crap.
Juliette said "it worked" one thing we know is all the people stuck in the 70's are back in real time. Soooo how did it work?
I think a cool (but not TV-friendly) way to do it would be to run with the alternate world through the whole season, culminating in realizing that everyone's life is terrible if they didn't crash. then at the same time, we follow them on the island as they finally find a way to get back. so the show ends with them all excited to reset time, but as watchers we realize it's a bad decision.
but also, still, what's "the purpose" in all of this?? I'm real curious.
What was your reaction to the ending? At first I was a little blown by it, because I was not prepared for it at all, but really the whole thing was beautiful. Giaccino's "Life and Death" theme could move me to tears by itself, but that coupled with Jack's death and them moving on together-- I was in tears for a long while.
